Facilities

	Designed for long-term storage EPL Archives’ facilities are designed to provide optimal storage conditions for all types of research materials, specimens, and media. EPL Archives spans 3 buildings totaling nearly 80,000 square feet of state-of-the-art environmentally controlled and monitored storage space, with 650,000 cubic feet of secured vault space.

			Facility Features EPL Archives’ facilities are dedicated to the inventory, preservation, and long-term storage of research and specialized materials. These include the following Storage vaults secured by either proximity card-controlled electronic locks, Simplex 1000 push pad locking systems, or keyed entry Central security systems with intrusion detection devices Gas (FM-200 or Halon 1301) fire extinguishing systems with water-sprinkler backup Diesel electrical back-up generators to provide emergency electrical power to protected space, including temperature-critical space (refrigerated or frozen) Two-hour rated firewalls between vaults.
	Specialized Features Freezers and refrigerators monitored and integrated into our central station security system: Frozen –80°C Walk-in –20°C Refrigerated Specialty vault designed to store film, media, and other temperature sensitive materials
