EPL Archives (EPL) works to reduce; reuse; and recycle wherever possible to improve and sustain the quality of our business operations as a leading provider of complete biorepository solutions.
Waste Reduction
We employ Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methods to reduce defects and waste in our processes and facilities design. Where appropriate, we replace disposable protective clothing with reusable laboratory coats and aprons and adopt new procedures to ensure a high-quality service delivery.
Waste Recycling
We conserve power and regularly invest in new equipment to reduce our need for power as we grow. We design our facilities to protect our client assets with good stewardship of our environment in mind.
- We buy recycled products, to the extent possible.
- We utilize reusable temperature-critical shippers for economic and environmental benefits.
- We recycle mechanical equipment, including freezers, to the extent possible.
- We recycle toner cartridges, paper, old computers, monitors, and other IT-related items.
Hazardous Waste
EPL is licensed to store and transport for disposal certain hazardous wastes. EPL uses “green-certified” products or those that are more environmentally friendly whenever possible. We maintain special-purpose storage vaults and biorepository processing work areas that help prevent the release of potential pollutants to protect our client assets, our trained biorepository specialists, and the environment.
