The EPL Operating System
As the original commercial biorepository services company, EPL has extensive expertise in regulatory-compliant archiving services. The unique combination of our people, processes, technology, facilities and equipment has produced an unparalleled performance record. Our services are GLP, GCP, and GMP or “GXP” compliant.
To support delivery of our complete biorepository solutions, EPL maintains permits and licenses from the following agencies:
- the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for Controlled Substances;
- Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES);
- the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service;
- the U.S. Department of Agriculture;
- the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and
- the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
EPL also maintains a Generator / Transport license issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
EPL provides extensive training to all employees including: GXP training; laboratory safety; chemical hygiene; blood-borne pathogens; radiation safety; and hazardous materials handling and shipping.
Secure Facilities
EPL and an EPL Affiliate presently own and/or maintain control over one million cubic feet of specialized biorepository storage capacity. The facilities were specifically designed to meet or exceed applicable GXP regulatory requirements for the secure preservation of specimens; samples; products; and associated data.
If you have specialized storage needs, such as preserving larger volumes of material that require special environmental controls, security protocols or processing needs, EPL can design and create a customized vault program specifically for you.

LabTrak® is a secure end-to-end family of solutions that reduces costs while meeting applicable legal, regulatory and compliance requirements. LabTrak was developed, and is managed and maintained by EPL’s team of software engineers, developers, and database administrators.
